Overview: Milwaukee’s 5-Day Weather Forecast July 9th, 2026, begins humid and rainy, drops into the 70s, and then hikes back into the 90s for the start of next week.
Today: After a foggy commute, morning brightens around 9 a.m. as the fog retreats. Temperatures attempt to climb into the mid-80s, but partly cloudy skies with rain returning around noon prevents the climb. At 3 p.m., temperatures peak at 82, but this adds more energy into the possible evening thunderstorms. Given enough sunshine and atmospheric movement, rain evolves into lightning-bearing downpours, with gust up to 25 mph. Any thunderstorms will be isolated, so rain totals will also be across the board. Winds otherwise remain semi-calm, averaging 5 mph from the east and the south during the day.
Tonight: Storms exit by 7 p.m. to reveal a stunning, sunny backdrop. Clouds dissipate somewhat in the night, though due to our proximity to the exiting low pressure, some higher clouds remain. As winds calm in the night, temperatures sink to 63.
Tomorrow: Winds increase out of the northeast to 6 mph, bringing along with it gusts up to 25 mph and cooler temperatures. By the afternoon, temperatures hit 77 for a high and clouds gather. This temporary reunion of clouds lasts until sunset. Overnight, winds ease once again, and temperatures fall to 63.
Weekend Outlook: Get ready for the heat and sunshine. Temperatures for Saturday and Sunday reach 82 and 90, respectively. On both days, the breeze of the lake aids in keeping dewpoints and temperatures in check. Stronger on Saturday, winds average 10 mph with gusts up to 22 mph, with a slim chance of precipitation. Sunday’s winds flip between southern, western, and eastern winds, but manage to consistently breeze along at 5 mph and no precipitation. If out on Lake Michigan, careful with the waves. Clouds spark up in the afternoon until the evening, allowing some reprieve from the burning sun. Remember to wear sunscreen and to drive enough water. Lows stick in the upper 60s.
Extended: As the high pressure of the weekend exits to the southwest, a rapidly deepening low-pressure system in Canada exerts its influence. This sends in a few clouds and winds of 8 mph from the southwest with gusts topping 25 mph. If any pop-up showers decide to make an appearance, it should be short-lived. Temperatures reach the low-90s for a high and mid-70s for a low. Stay tuned for more information on tomorrow’s storms and the weekend heat!
