The awaited 2023 Grammy nomination list has been revealed, leaving music fans confused for yet another year. While supporters rejoice that Beyoncé leads with a total of nine nominations for RENAISSANCE, tying her with husband Jay-Z for the record of 88, others are left stunned by the lack of range.

Check out five artists who I believe were snubbed.

Nicki Minaj

Queen of Rap Nicki Minaj has not a single nomination this year, despite finding massive success with “Super Freaky Girl.” The Academy deemed one of the hottest songs of the summer as pop instead of rap, which Minaj had opposed.

Rosalía

Spanish Singer-Songwriter Rosalía released the highest rated album of 2022, MOTOMAMI . While positive critical acclaim, viral imaginary gum-chewing TikTok videos, and stellar visuals gained the “BIZCOCHITO” singer a nomination for best Latin rock or alternative album, they were upsettingly not enough for an album of the year nomination.

Demi Lovato

This year, Ex-Disney Act Demi Lovato did not start drama and stuck to her music, which is exactly what people have been asking for. With an authentic look and sound, remenscint of their debut album, they released a killer rock album HOLY FVCK. It was completley overlooked for any of the categories.

Charli XCX

CRASH is pop perfection, complete with a no-holds-barred, self-proclaimed sell-out era. Charli XCX unlocked full pop star status this year, as she refined her image, perfected choreography, and combined queer dance music with catchy hooks. Still, Charli has yet to receive a solo Grammy nomination, having been nominated seven years ago for “Fancy” with Iggy Azalea.

Tate McRae

Tate McRae was right, seeing the nominees for best new artist did make me “feel like shit.” Although artists like Omar Apollo, Latto and Wet Leg are great picks for the category, McRae should have made the list. The So You Think You Can Dance finalist released her debut album “i used to think i could fly” earlier this year.

The 65th Grammy Awards will air live on CBS Sunday, Feb. 5.
