It’s finally Febraury. School is back in session for the semester. The season affective disorder has officially set in. The Fringe staff recommends some streamable content they’re watching this month.

ChaseFaceShow // YouTube

by Jack Fennimore

It’s a crime that YouTuber ChaseFaceShow doesn’t have nearly as many subscribers as some of the other YouTubers. Sure, over 41,000 subscribers isn’t anything to sneeze at, but someone as professional yet funny as ChaseFaceShow deserves more.

ChaseFaceShow’s channel includes a wide variety of video content, including game and anime reviews as well as podcasts. He even has a hand in a few voice acting projects. But the highlight is his in-depth analysis of games through his “What Happened?” series. His flowing descriptions of game mechanics, art and music as well as his robust voice exudes confidence and intelligence. Of course, that doesn’t mean he can’t be funny at the same time, as there are plenty of gags to be had. While he’s relatively new to the game, he’s still a force to be reckoned with.

I recommend that you check out his analysis of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 as it’s a great way of getting to know him and his style. Go show him a bit of love.

Desperate and with no one else to turn to, she calls her old ex-boyfriend out of the blue for help. Written and directed by one of the story editors on Sex and the City, Liz Tuccillo, Take Care has the charm and the heart to last, and is the perfect length to pique your interest. This film is perfect for any occasion, be it a movie night with friends or a solo Netflix session on a Sunday afternoon.

Super Beard Bros., a Let’s Play duo // YouTube

by Dayton Hamann

“While I am not a fan of “Let’s Players,” the charm and community of Super Beard Bros. is simply irresistible. Comprised of Jirard Khalil from video game review show The Completionist and Alex Faciane from Pokémon trivia and strategy show The Dex, this bearded duo takes on games ranging from intense retro platformers to point-and-click adventures.

While providing casual commentary, Jirard and Alex often invite viewer input through social media with exciting questions and assignments. Recently, they have challenged viewers to create themed levels for the Wii U game Super Mario Maker to humorous and impressive results. Their videos are endlessly fun and refreshing in the saturated market of “Let’s Play” YouTube Channels.”

Blue is the Warmest Color // Netflix

by Sarah Thomas

After stating at Emma’s cerulean blue hair for nearly two hours and watching her grow alongside Adele, you began to wonder if blue really is the warmest color. Set in France, the two teens meet by chance in a lesbian bar after Adele wanders away from her friends during a night on the town. Whether you enjoy films from this genre or not, this one is a brutally honest look into maturing, relationships and sexuality. There are times in this film that you can identify with the naïve Adele, or the street smart Emma. I do have to give a fair warning, this movie is three hours long but worth the time investment.
