Overview: A multitude of small disturbances will bring overcast skies and rain chances to the Milwaukee area until the end of the week. However, bright skies and spring-like temperatures return for a nice weekend.
Today: Tuesday will be a mainly dry day with rain chances returning during the late evening and overnight. Tuesday morning Milwaukee will sit on the back side of a cold front that pushed through Monday. A new low-pressure system to the southwest will begin to approach the area over the course of the day and eventually pass to the south, but not before initiating showers by the evening that will last through the night. Before this low arrives, Tuesday will be a dry day. In the morning temperatures will rise through the 40s with blustery west winds around 12 mph under overcast skies. By the afternoon skies will brighten as the sun begins to peek through which will allow temperature to rise near 60. A band of light rain showers should start around 9 p.m. as the system arrives with winds shifting to the north and decreasing to around 8 mph sustained.
Overnight: Off-and-on rain showers will continue overnight under overcast skies. Lows fall into the 40s with winds turning to the northeast as the low-pressure system continues to slide by to the south.
Tomorrow: Wednesday will serve as a transition day for Wisconsin’s weather. A low-pressure system that brought the area showers Tuesday night will continue through early afternoon with a 20% chance through midday. New rainfall amounts from this system will be light, less than a quarter-inch. Morning conditions will feature overcast skies, isolated rain showers, and temperatures rising through the 40s with northeast winds of 8 mph sustained. By the afternoon, skies will gradually clear as temperatures reach the low-50s with similar winds. By 4 p.m. a weak trough will drop in from the north, triggering a spotty 10% chance of showers over the Milwaukee area. No further rainfall accumulation is expected out of this disturbance and most will stay dry. By the evening, high pressure builds in from the southwest bringing clear skies and light west winds. Overnight temperatures will slide down into the upper-30s with calm west winds shifting again to the northwest under clear skies.
Extended: A calmer weather pattern settles in late week and lasts into the weekend. Thursday brings a final rain chance for the week as another weak low-pressure system slides in above the approaching weak dome of high pressure. This low pressure will bear a weak cold front that will slide south of the Milwaukee area. Since Milwaukee is on the north end of this front, another 10% chance of rain for the area will exist by the afternoon. Other conditions on Thursday will feature mostly cloudy skies with high temperatures reaching the upper-50s with winds primarily out of the east with speeds of 8 mph. By the evening, skies will clear as high pressure takes control over Wisconsin weather for the beginning of the weekend.
Friday will be cooler across Milwaukee as temperatures look to only reach the upper-40s for high under mostly sunny skies. Winds will primarily be out of the northeast around 12 mph for the day. Overnight, winds will turn to the north and calm. Temperatures will drop into the mid 30s for a low under mostly clear skies.
Saturday will be very similar, but a bit warmer. Temperatures look to reach the low-50s under mostly sunny skies. Winds from the northeast around 5 mph will be around most of the day. By the evening and into night, winds turn to the west with speeds staying consistent. The wind change is in regards to a new weather maker that will move in by Sunday morning.
