Today: We see the return of more rain today, likely in 2 rounds in the morning and evening. With the ground already saturated from the weekend rain, this rain could see some flooding occurring in low-laying areas and along streams. Remember to keep an eye out for any flood alerts that may get issued and remember to turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooding. Other than the rain, expect the temperatures to range from the upper 60s into the lower 80s with a majority of this warming coming after the initial line of storms in the morning. Winds should be on the calmer side most of the day, only reaching 5-10 mph at times with directions varying as the rain passes.
Tonight: Last round of storms to leave the area by around 10 p.m. with skies clearing into the morning hours. Expect to see the temps drop into the mid 60s before we see the sun start to rise.
Tomorrow: A weak area of high pressure is looking to move into the region, providing clearer skies and winds out of the north. With this, we can expect to see more mild temps with the high only reaching the mid 70s as we get into the afternoon. We’re not expecting any rain so expect the water levels in local streams to start receding back to normal levels.
Extended Forecast: Thursday is looking to be mostly the same as this high continues to affect the weather in its eastward progression, but with this the winds will shift off the lake. Expect the city to be a little cooler than inland as temps only get into the low to mid 70s. Friday we see some warming start to occur again, but only reaching the low to mid 80s as winds from the south start to bring this warmer air to the upper Midwest. Saturday we see this warming continue as temps rise into the upper 80s, possibly reaching 90. Rain chances also return in the morning hours, but don’t expect it to be anything like this past weekend as it will only be brief.
