Today: The risk of severe weather exists this afternoon into the evening. The Storm Prediction Center has Southern Wisconsin under a slight risk, level 2/5, of severe weather for a line of storms along a cold front pushing though the region. The primary hazard will be damaging winds, though an isolated instance of hail or a weak tornado cannot be ruled out with any isolated storm ahead of the line. Remember to be weather aware as the day progresses in case any storms cross the strong to severe threshold. Other than the storms, the day will be quite warm as temps are expected to soar into the low-to-mid 90s. Inland, heat indices may reach 100, being slightly cooler expected along the lake. Humidity will be present, though not to the same extent of weeks past, so don’t be afraid to turn on a few fans and/or your A/C. Winds out of the south 10-15 mph will be supplying our warmer air and clear skies ahead of the line will keep the sun beating down and warming us further.
Tonight: The line of storms will impact the area in the late afternoon/evening, starting around 5-6 p.m. with lingering rain until around midnight. Expect temps to cool dramatically once the cold front passes, potentially as much as 15-20 degrees.

Tomorrow: Temps only get into the lower 80s and more humid conditions are expected. Winds again out of the south will help transport of this gulf air into the region, but a low pressure system up in Canada will prevent it from fully dominating. On and off clouds throughout the day and an isolated rain chance, especially in early morning and late, will provide any chances of a break from the sun and heat. There is a chance this afternoon/evening round of rain could be strong to severe as the Storm Prediction Center has a Marginal Risk, level 1/5, across the region with the hazard again being damaging winds if anything can develop. Check back again tomorrow once it becomes a bit more clear if anything will become more defined regarding these storms.
Extended Forecast: Monday and Tuesday we see some rain chances making its appearance once again, holding off come Wednesday. Temps are expected to peak in the upper 70s and lower 80s with muggy conditions expected all days.
