Today: Brisk temperatures meet the city Monday morning, along with intense winds making it feel like a mere 2 degrees. Luckily, as the afternoon approaches, the winds are expected to die down, and the temperature will climb to 23 degrees. Once again, the wind chill will provide a “feels like” temperature of 8 degrees, and the skies will remain partly sunny all day.
Tonight: The trend of slowing winds and chilly temperatures throughout the evening leave us with the day’s low at 20 degrees. Winds will slow to only 11 mph, and the skies will continue to be mostly clear.
Tomorrow: A clipper system moves across the area on Tuesday, providing precipitation and drastically colder temperatures. The snow will start in the morning when temperatures are averaging in the mid-20s. After dying down a bit in the late morning, the snow will pick up again around lunch, just as we reach the day’s high of 32 degrees. Expect the snow to continue into the evening. In total, the precipitation should only accumulate to about an inch and will affect 50% of the area.
Extended: The tail end of this fast-moving low-pressure system will provide some snow early Wednesday morning and freezing temperatures around 15 degrees. The precipitation will likely end mid-morning; however, the cold will persist throughout the day with the afternoon high barely reaching 25 degrees. On Thursday, temperatures will return to their seasonal averages with a high of 35 and a low of 22, complemented by partly cloudy skies. Friday will see southwesterly winds bring a warm air mass over the area, providing unseasonably warm highs. The low will still be 25 in the morning but otherwise expect a high of 53 and partly cloudy skies.
