Overview: A partly sunny Friday and Saturday give way to a building heat dome Sunday. The early work week will see the return of muggy 90-degree temperatures with tropical dewpoints.
Today: Friday will be a pretty nice day despite not much sun. Some patchy fog may be going on early in the morning but should burn off by mid-morning with the sun trying to peak out. Temperatures will rise through the upper 60s and lower 70s accompanied by a northeast breezy around 8 mph. Clouds will fill back in by the afternoon which will halt highs in the upper 70s with a northeast wind. Winds turn to the north and ease in the evening which will make for a calm night.
Overnight: Skies will start to clear after midnight with temperatures dipping down into the low-60s with light and variable winds.
Tomorrow: Saturday will act as a transitional day of weather across the Milwaukee area. The low-pressure trough that brought the area showers and thunderstorms Friday will move off to the east to make way for a strong high-pressure system from the north. Skies will be overcast during the morning, as temperatures rise through the upper 60s and lows 70s with a northeast wind around 8 mph. Clouds begin to break by noon which should make for a sunny late afternoon. Temperatures will reach the low-80s with winds turning more to the east. Winds speeds diminish and become variable in the evening which will last through the overnight. Furthermore, temperatures will fall back into the mid-60s under clear skies.
Sunday: A strong dome of high pressure is going to lead to a hot and humid start of next week. Sunday will be the coolest out of the next couple of days with high temperatures topping out in the upper 80s and dewpoints hovering in the mid-60s with abundant sunshine during the day. Winds will be out of the east around 6 mph for the day but swing to the southwest and become light by the overnight hours. Furthermore, temperatures will rest in the upper 60s paired with dewpoints in the mid-50s under clear skies.
Extended: On Monday, the real hot and humid weather begins as the high-pressure system moves south of Wisconsin. Mostly sunny skies will dominate, helping highs reach the 90-degree mark. Combined with dewpoints in the mid-60s, heat indices will land in the lower 90s. Southeast winds generally near 6 mph won’t offer much relief from the heat either. Overnight, winds will swing to the west with speeds staying consistent as temperatures only make it down into the low-70s and dewpoints relax into the upper 50s under clear skies. Tuesday looks to be the hottest day of the week. High temperatures could top out in the lower 90s paired with dew points in the low-70s. Because heat indices could reach the 100-degree mark, a heat advisory may be issued for the Milwaukee area. Winds will be out of the west at 6 mph during the day, becoming light and variable overnight. Lows will only make it down into the low-70s, with dewpoints staying parked in the low-70s under mostly cloudy skies. A weak cold front will begin to make its way overhead by Wednesday morning.
