Today: Friday opens with leftovers from Thursday’s storms lingering in the early morning hours, especially across southern portions of the city. Showers and some thunder may still be hanging around during your morning commute, and you’ll definitely want the umbrella just in case. As the day progresses, skies may try to break a bit, with a lull possible midday. Don’t let the calm fool you; additional storms may bubble up by late afternoon, particularly if the sun peeks out and adds instability. This is likely our greatest chance for severe weather over the next couple days. While widespread severe weather isn’t certain, any afternoon storm could bring gusty winds or downpours. While wind appears to be the main threat, a brief tornado or two still appears possible. Temps will hover around 80°F, with southerly winds picking up to 10–15 mph and gusts near 20 mph.
Tonight: Friday night keeps things unsettled. Moisture pooling over the region, along with a stalled boundary, will keep showers and storms firing through the evening and overnight. There’s still some uncertainty on exactly where the heaviest rains will land, but areas near and south of I-94 are favored for the most persistent downpours. Due to this the WPC has placed Milwaukee in a slight (15%) risk for excessive rainfall exceeding flash flood guidance. Overnight lows will fall to the upper 60s, with continued southerly breezes around 10 mph.

Tomorrow: Leftover showers and a few rumbles of thunder could linger into the morning as the overnight activity slowly shifts out. Skies gradually clear behind it, and the first half of the day should be mostly quiet. By afternoon, the atmosphere reloads, highs climbing to the upper 80s inland (low 80s lakeside) with dewpoints hanging in the low 70s. Southwest winds around 10 to 15 mph will keep the air moving and the humidity noticeable. Later in the day a second round of storms is possible late in the day or early evening as a weak cold front edges in from the northwest. Confidence in the exact timing and coverage is still moderate at best, but if storms do form, heavy rain and gusty winds could accompany them. Most of the day will be dry but keep an eye on the radar after 3–4 p.m. There is potential again for Severe weather. At night a cold front finally sweeps through the area, ending the rain chances as skies begin to clear. Northwesterly winds will usher in drier air overnight, dropping temps to a comfortable low near 64°F.

Sunday brings a refreshing break. Sunshine dominates for most of the day with just a light northwest breeze at 5–10 mph. Highs will reach the upper 70s to around 80°F, a great day for anything outdoors after a soggy stretch.
Monday starts another warm-up as southerly flow returns. Expect partly sunny skies and a more humid feel, with highs near 88°F and heat index values creeping into the low 90s. There’s a slight chance (20%) of a pop-up shower or storm late in the day into night, but most of the day looks dry. Winds from the south will pick up to 10–15 mph.
Tuesday continues the warm, sticky trend ahead of another developing low-pressure system. Clouds will gradually build, and storm chances rise again by late Tuesday into Wednesday (40–50%). Highs will once again be in the upper 80s with a muggy feel, and gusty southerly winds may return with some gusts up to 20-25mph.
