Today:
We’ll kick off Friday with some early morning thunderstorm activity moving in from Minnesota. Most of the action should pass just west of Milwaukee, but there’s still a chance for a few gusty storms to clip the area, especially west of I-94 during the morning commute. The biggest threat would be brief gusts near 50 mph, but severe weather isn’t expected. After the morning round, skies become partly sunny, and the southwest winds start to crank up, gusting near 30 mph. Highs will reach into the low 80s, making it a warm but manageable day.
Friday night stays warm and a bit unsettled. A few isolated showers or thunderstorms may pass through as a warm front lifts northward. While coverage looks limited, don’t be surprised by a few rumbles overnight. Temperatures will only dip into the low 60s.

Saturday:
Saturday marks the start of a serious heat wave. With high pressure over the Southeast and steady southwest winds, Milwaukee will bake under sunshine and rising humidity. Temperatures are expected to soar into the mid 90s inland, and even right along the lakefront, there won’t be much relief. Dewpoints in the low to mid 70s will push the heat index to 100–105°F by late afternoon, especially in Milwaukee, Racine, and Kenosha. The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Heat Warning for those counties, with a Heat Advisory expected elsewhere. Winds will continue from the southwest around 15–20 mph, with some higher gusts.
Saturday night will offer little relief, temperatures remain in the upper 70s with tropical humidity levels, making it a very warm and muggy overnight.
Sunday:
Sunday will be nearly identical to Saturday in terms of heat and humidity. Highs again climb into the mid 90s, and with dewpoints still in the 70s, heat index values will easily top 100°F for much of the metro. Expect southwest winds around 15 to 25 mph. Skies stay mostly sunny to partly cloudy, but a weak disturbance aloft could spark a few late-day thunderstorms. Right now, coverage looks spotty, but it’s worth watching as any storm could bring brief downpours or gusty winds.
Lows overnight stay in the mid to upper 70s, another uncomfortably warm night.
Monday:
The upper ridge starts to flatten, but the heat hangs on for one more day. Highs once again approach the mid 90s with very humid air still locked in place. Southwest breezes persist around 15–20 mph. There’s a better shot at some afternoon and evening thunderstorms as a weak front approaches from the northwest. Nothing too organized at this point, but it’s our best chance at rain in several days.
Overnight lows fall back to the mid 70s.
Tuesday:
The pattern finally begins to shift. A front settles into southern Wisconsin, bringing more clouds and increasing chances for scattered showers and thunderstorms. Temperatures cool slightly, with highs topping out in the mid to upper 80s. Humidity remains elevated, so it’ll still feel sticky, but the extreme heat should ease. Winds begin to shift more southerly around 10 to 15 mph.
