Overview: Milwaukee’s 5-Day Weather Forecast May 17, 2026, shows some storms with high temperatures in the early week, then clearing skies give way to cooler temperatures later in the week.

Today: Early morning storms clear out only to be succeeded by more rain until 10 a.m. As winds calm, they switch to come from the north and east at 9 mph, sending in the humid lake air. Around noon, thunderstorms quickly roll in and out with heavy rain and a slight chance of hail. Temperatures peak at 3 p.m. to reach 60, only to fall to 51 by 9 p.m. By the late afternoon, drizzles and thunder are long gone, but fog remains, especially on the I-43 corridor north of downtown. Exercise caution when driving Sunday!

Tonight: The sunset brings about no great change in temperature, but winds begin to increase from the south. These winds at 14 mph strengthen into Monday and Tuesday due to a low pressure entering from the southwest. While after the fog dissipates at midnight, temperatures increase into the 60s.

Tomorrow: As the warm Monday commute gets underway, clouds persist overhead. Storms eventually arrive around 9 a.m. and continue until the afternoon. Expect wind gusts up to 45 mph, heavy rain, and possibly some hail. Temperatures enter the 80s in the early afternoon, then quickly fall into the high-60s. Clouds attempt to clear, but fog gathers in the night as temperatures drop to 64. Additionally, one last low-pressure system blasts through Wisconsin later, bringing thunderstorms with heavy rain and a chance of hail until late morning Tuesday.

Tuesday: Other than the morning storms hindering the commute, Tuesday clears up. Temperatures return to the high 70s one last time before cooler 60s and 50s rule the forecast. Wind gusts calm from Monday’s 45 mph down to 40 mph in the morning Tuesday, 30 mph during the day, and 20 mph in the night. Average winds also calm from 14 mph to 10 mph. Without many clouds insulating us and winds now from the north, temperatures fall into the mid-40s for the low.

Extended: Wednesday and Thursday might seem like the same day. High temperatures hit 60 and 58, respectively, and low temperatures hit 45 and 44. Winds both days come off the lake at 9 mph with gusts reaching 25 mph Wednesday and 17 mph Thursday. The better gauge of which day is which would be the clouds. On Wednesday, some white cotton balls remain in Milwaukee’s skies, while Thursday only sees blue skies into Friday.
