Overview: Milwaukee’s 5-Day Weather Forecast May 3, 2026, sees May-like temperatures briefly before returning to the 40s with possible snow, again.

Today: Drizzle greets the morning as a weak low-pressure system passes. Within this system, southwestern winds average 14 mph with gusts up to 40 mph. This launches temperatures into the mid-60s for a high around 65 at 4 p.m. Temperatures could be cooler if clouds stick around long after 10 a.m. when the rain exits. If clouds stick around longer, a possible line of rainstorms could sweep through Milwaukee. The chance of this happening increases around 4 p.m., peaking at 7 p.m., and decreasing with the setting of the sun. Some thunder is possible if this happens.

Tonight: Temperatures dip into the mid-40s for the night without clouds to blanket the sky. As the low pressure clears out though, it merges with a northwestern low. While this allows average winds to decrease to 8 mph, the main low pressure deepens, increasing the probability of stronger storms on Monday.

Tomorrow: Starting out with a picturesque lakeshore sunrise, Milwaukee enters the work week with few clouds and low winds. Winds increase over the day, peaking at a sustained 20 mph with gusts up to 34 mph in the mid-afternoon. Due to the southwestern winds, temperatures rocket up to 73 around the same time. Rain does not enter with the highest winds though, waiting until the late evening to make its appearance. These thunderstorms sweep through Wisconsin travelling southeast, and if winds hold back slightly, the timing could coincide with the setting of the sun. This would allow weaker rain to come through or even break up. Despite this, clouds linger afterward with extra drizzles and rain returning Tuesday morning. Temperatures first drop to 42 with the passing of the system’s cold front.

Weekend Outlook: After rain dampens the morning commute, sunshine begins peeking through, allowing a high temperature of 51. Due to the cold front’s vigor, mid-week temps stick around 50. Helpfully, Tuesday’s winds calm and so lessen the wind chill, averaging 6 mph for the day with gusts only reaching 23. Without too many clouds going into the night, temperatures fall into the 30s for a low of 38.

Extended: Wednesday’s winds remain below 15 mph from the east. Fighting against Lake Michigan’s 45-degree temperature, Milwaukee struggles to reach the high-40s. Clouds increase into the evening with rain possible until midnight both Wednesday and Thursday. The difference with Thursday, though, is the temperatures. Wednesday sees a low of 38 whereas Thursday could near freezing, especially in the upper atmosphere. Cold air aloft would increase the possibility of snow grains akin to May 1. Stay tuned to get updates on this possibility!
