Overview: A cool Sunday comes before another Omega block enters Monday, keeping Milwaukee’s weather calm through Wednesday with sunshine and warmth, but Thursday begins a new active weather pattern.
Today: Sunday will be a cooler summer day across the Milwaukee area. Mostly cloudy skies will fill the morning while temperatures will rise through the high 50s and lower 60s with a southeast breeze at 8 mph. Mostly cloudy conditions will continue into the afternoon as temperatures reach the upper 60s with winds turning east around 10 mph. By the evening winds will become light and variable with overcast skies, which is ahead of a small weathermaker.
Overnight: Into the overnight hours, a weak disturbance from the west will try to push a light band of rain showers to the east towards the Milwaukee area. A 20% chance of showers exists after midnight through early Monday morning, but most will stay dry with less than a tenth of an inch accumulating. Winds will continue to be light and turn to the north with lows cooling into the low 50s under overcast skies.
Tomorrow: Monday will be a classic summer day over the Milwaukee area as a new Omega block pattern starts. This pattern has a high pressure sandwiched between two low pressure areas, looking like the Greek letter omega (Ω) (See image below). Mostly cloudy skies will dominate the morning as any rain showers come to an end. Temperatures will rise through the high 50s and 60s with light winds from the northeast but turning more easterly by the late morning. By the afternoon, skies will turn partly sunny as temperatures reach the lower 70s for a high with winds remaining from the east and increasing slightly to around 5 mph. Lastly, temperatures will cool into the low 50s for an overnight low thanks to clearing skies and a cool east wind around 7 mph.

Tuesday: Sunny skies, light winds, and a warmer trend will be the mid-week theme. Tuesday a high-pressure system that has been hovering north of Wisconsin will begin to sink southward over the state. Temperatures will be in the upper 60s, and maybe a few locations hit 70 inland. Winds will be out of the east at around 5 mph but become variable overnight as temperatures cool into the mid-50s under clear skies.
Extended: Wednesday will be like Tuesday. The high-pressure system will be stationed over Lake Michigan which will lead to mostly sunny skies with intermittent clouds. Temperatures will reach the upper 70s for a high with winds shifting to the southeast at 8 mph. Wednesday night winds will shift to the southwest under partly cloudy skies. Finally, Thursday will be a transitional day of weather across the Milwaukee area. Early sunshine will come to an end quickly, as clouds fill in by the early afternoon. High temperatures will reach the low 80s with a blustery southwest wind around 10 mph. A low-pressure system bearing a cold front will start to move in Thursday night and break down the Omega block. A 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms will be possible overnight. It is too early to know if any of these storms will be strong or how much rain the area will pick up, so stay tuned to future forecast for more updates.
