Overview: Milwaukee’s 5-Day Weather Forecast May 6, 2026, grows windier into the weekend, building up to Saturday’s possible storms, but things seem to calm down for Mother’s Day on Sunday.

Today: Wednesday begins with intermittent sun and rising temperatures due to an entering high-pressure system. Earlier than usual, our high temperature of 52 arrives around noon. Winds of 8 mph abruptly shift to come off the lake, sending Milwaukee’s temperatures into the high-40s. Along with this, clouds gather until the evening. Gusts could reach 25 mph during the day, but they die down towards the evening which should feature a beautiful sunset and mid-40s temperatures.

Tonight: Winds calm in the night with clear skies. Without anything restricting the release of heat, Milwaukee falls to 32 degrees. Prepare yourself and anything sensitive to freezing temperatures for the night ahead. This especially goes for plants outside.

Tomorrow: Winds whip in from the southwest, averaging 10 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. Thanks to its warmth, temperatures return to the 40s by the mid-morning. Clouds increase however, bringing some possible showers until the evening. While temperatures rise quickly, upper air temperatures might not warm fast enough to restrict the odd snow grain from falling. Snow grains could be possible until noon.

A snow grain or graupel, despite looking like hail, begins already frozen, falls, and accumulates supercooled water droplets before hitting the surface. Hail forms from water droplets which freeze due to being carried upward in the atmosphere from a storm’s vertical wind.

Warming up to 56, Milwaukee retains some clouds after the rain showers move over Lake Michigan. Winds slow into the night as clouds gather once again. Temperatures bottom out at 41.

Friday: Without a freeze Thursday night, Milwaukee regains some ground on temperatures, returning to the 60s. Due to storms in Illinois, cloudy skies rule the day with the possible drizzle in the afternoon. Gusting occasionally to 20 mph, winds stay relatively quiet, averaging 8 mph. Clouds attempt to decrease in the evening but continue to overshadow the night. Before succumbing to the southern heat on the wind, temperatures hit a low of 46.

Weekend Outlook: Southwestern winds reach 20 mph with possible gusts of 40 mph on Saturday. This is all in anticipation of the strengthening low-pressure system arriving in Wisconsin. Some thunderstorms, heavy precipitation and cooler temperatures swing through with this system from noon until midnight. Despite this, Milwaukee hits a high of 73 degrees. Winds in the night ease for a little while but increase again Sunday morning to 11 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. Sunday is Mother’s Day, and currently things remain dry with breaking clouds, a 57-degree high, and a low of 42. Keep up to date with our forecasts to get a better understanding of your weather on Mother’s Day!
