Today: An upper air disturbance aloft sends dry, cool air along the front that brought us the rainier conditions yesterday. Some isolated showers may linger around the area through daybreak, though by 9 a.m. we look to dry for the day. As skies clear, temperatures rise to a high of 63 degrees for the day, which is around average for this time of season. Sunny skies bring relief from the noticeably cooler temperatures, while breezy northwest winds accompany us through much of the day. Finally, a typical fall day arrives for the Milwaukee area.
Tonight: Winds look to calm as we head into the evening and nighttime hours tonight. A surface high-pressure system north of our area begins to nudge in, causing temperatures to significantly cool below what we’ve experienced lately. Winds remain north, where temperatures fall around 50 degrees. Few clouds linger, though clear skies dominate on a crisp and cool night.

Tomorrow: Fall weather greets us in the morning, beginning the day cooler with temps rising out of the 40s. High pressure enters the region, allowing for sunny skies as winds off the lake accompany our day. We’ll barely be allowed to reach 60 degrees tomorrow, with a high of 59 expected for the day. Much of Wednesday is calm, and continues that way into the evening. By nighttime, cooler air filters in with low temperatures reaching 49 degrees. Thankfully, the lake breeze will keep us warmer than inland areas, since lake temps are warmer than the surface.
Extended: High pressure takes over our weather through the rest of the week, where clear skies and cooler temperatures become the new trend. On Thursday, we’ll see temperatures reach 60 again. By Thursday night an upper air disturbance looks to develop over the area, bringing a minor chance of isolated and light rain showers as temperatures fall to 50 degrees. Warmer air looks to return for the weekend! On Friday, we’ll see sunny skies and highs in the low 60s, then dropping to the 50s overnight. Saturday looks to be another day of warming with highs in the mid 60s coupled with sunny skies before falling to a low in the mid 50s.
