Today: The 5-day Weather Forecast begins with fantastic news: no rain. After a confusing September, this upcoming week finishes our month beautifully, though a little warmer than normal. Sunday kicks things off with little to no fog and an early morning mid-60s. Without clouds, Milwaukee warms to a high of 72 degrees, much tamer compared to yesterday’s high of 85. One can attribute the cooler weather to the lake. As a high-pressure system flies overhead near Door County, winds are expected to average 8 mph arriving from the northwest. The air pushed from this direction mingles with the lake water, gifting cool breezes upon arrival. Other than the morning gusts of 23 mph, gustiness should hold off from rest of the day.
Tonight: Cloudless, we marvel at the sunset within the temperate 60s. Temperatures continue to fall, past the 60s into the 50s. Wind scarcity in the night leads to a low of 55 right before the rising of the sun tomorrow.
Tomorrow: As the golden sun rises at 6:45 a.m. Monday, the morning commute comes and goes without the usual fog. Further on in the day, temperatures become noticeably warmer, lifting to a high of 75. The work week starts less gloomy thanks to clear skies gracing Milwaukee from dawn until dusk. With a high-pressure to the west of Wisconsin, winds, if any, would normally set up from the south. But with the lake as a stronger influence, winds combat each other, neutralizing to an average 3 mph, with 7 mph gusts stemming from the nightly lake breeze. Night harbors a bit more organized winds from the south, cooling temperatures back to a low of 56.

Extended Forecast: Highs stay within the 70s while lows rise to the low-60s before chilling to 55 on Thursday. Winds remain calmer but slowly increase over the week, from 5-7 mph. Gusts return in the latter half of the week to the tune of 15 mph. Clouds gather Tuesday, culminating in a mostly cloudy Wednesday, October 1, only to dissipate Thursday. The reason for the fair weather is once again, the high-pressure systems. While the high-pressure of Sunday shifts over the northeastern seaboard, another introduces itself to the Great Lakes on Monday. Acting like a door on a hinge, high pressures within Wisconsin remain constant as center of the system swings through Ontario to New York. During this time, southern temperatures launch northward, but with little opposition, thus not creating any weather. Stay up to date as this may continue for a bit longer!
