Today: The two words, “high pressure” could be used to describe our upcoming week in Milwaukee. As we spend our last day in September, we’ll be welcomed to sunny skies and an above average, yet comfortable day beginning at 63 degrees in the morning. Through the course of the day, a separate high-pressure system over Canada causes easterly winds to enhance. Temperatures will warm to 72 degrees as a high, and due to the system circulation, areas inland will see temperatures climb to the upper 70s. A lake breeze accompanies UWM and surrounding areas throughout the day, into the overnight.
Tonight: Winds calm as night approaches, while remaining easterly. Clouds look to develop overhead into the overnight, though no rain is expected. Fog may linger in some areas, but a majority looks to hold off due to drier air flow at the surface. Low temperatures fall to 60 degrees for the night.
Tomorrow: A consistent lake breeze looks to induce cloud cover over the area, as we’ll see partly sunny skies through tomorrow. Temperatures remain consistent with Tuesday’s high, around 70 degrees. Winds are expected to be a bit stronger off the lake, with gusts up to 10 mph, creating the cooler temps lakeside. Clouds linger through the rest of the day and into the evening as temperatures fall to 59 degrees for the night.

Extended: A warming trend reappears for the weekend. Thursday’s temperatures are consistent with Tuesday and Wednesday, with highs reaching 71 degrees coupled with a lake breeze. Sunny skies return for Thursday as high pressure continues to show its dominance over the region. Winds take a shift moving into the weekend, where a southerly flow will influence Friday’s temperatures to reach 78 degrees. Sunny skies and cloudless nights will continue to dominate carrying into Saturday. By Saturday, we’ll start to see low pressure development over the Plains, which could bring the slight chance for showers for the weekend. Little cloud development looks to be on tap for Saturday, as those well above-average temperatures sticking around. Lows will fall to the mid 60s overnight.
