Today, May 26: Happy Memorial Day, Panthers! Thank you to all those who have given their lives to give us the freedom we experience every day. The weather looks gorgeous for all of those barbeques and celebrations during the day. There will be ample sun thanks to the continued presence of a high-pressure system in the area. Temperatures will warm up into the upper 50s and maybe even the low 60s before a lake breeze kicks in during the afternoon. Clouds will become a little more plentiful during the evening, but should remain partly sunny as the sun sets. Winds will be 5-10 mph throughout the day, maybe gusting up to 15 mph once the lake breeze kicks in.

Tonight: The high pressure that has been giving us present weather begins to move out, ushering in some more clouds. Temperatures will fall into the upper 40s overnight, but could stay in the low 50s if there are enough clouds present.

Tuesday, May 27: Tuesday is shaping up to be gray and cooler than average. Clouds continue to roll in as the next system to affect us begins to move into our area. Rain looks to hold off for the morning hours, but models are trending towards the rain starting just before noon. The rain chances continue to go up as the afternoon progresses, with rain likely during the evening and overnight. No severe weather is expected at any point during the day, but there could be a few rumbles of thunder mixed in with the rain. Temperatures will be slightly cooler than the average for the year, reaching into the upper 50s. Overnight, temperatures will stay in the low 50s.

Extended Forecast, Wednesday, May 28 – Friday, May 30: Wednesday looks to be similar to Tuesday. Showers will likely be on and off throughout the day, with temperatures getting into the mid-to-upper 50s during the day. Again, severe weather is not expected. Thursday looks to be a bit drier, but still slightly rainy. Temperatures will warm up into the mid-60s. Friday looks drier and warmer overall, with temperatures warm up into the low 70s. There looks to be only a slight chance off rain in the afternoon, but since it’s so far out, that could change.
