Today: Monday is going to be a typical fall day for Wisconsin as the Milwaukee area is going to be in between two weather systems. Showers last night were courtesy of a low pressure system located in Canada with an extending cold front which produced said showers. However, during the day on Monday we will be in the wake of the aforementioned front. Because of this, winds will be very gusty from the northwest with sustained speeds between 15-20 mph and gusts up to 35 mph. Temperatures will be able to rise into the mid 50s for a daytime high with mostly sunny skies courtesy of a dome of strong high pressure moving north and east from the south.
Overnight: Winds will start to ease during the overnight hours with sustained speeds around 10 mph still form the northwest. Temperature will be able to rest in the upper 30’s overnight despite mostly cloudy conditions.
Tomorrow: Tuesday will be an interesting weather set up for the Milwaukee area. High pressure to the south and east of Wisconsin will keep the area sunny during the day, however a low pressure system out west trailing a cold front will try to influence that high pressure system to move further east and affect Milwaukee’s weather Tuesday evening and overnight. Sky conditions over the area will be ever changing Tuesday as the morning will feature early cloud cover from departing showers overnight Sunday. Temperatures will rise through the 40’s and lower 50’s with a southwest wind with sustained speeds around 5-10 mph helping us warm up. High temperatures should top out in the mid 50’s by the afternoon with skies becoming mostly sunny with more of a southerly wind with sustained speed between 5-10 mph which should lead to a nice late afternoon. By evening and into the overnight hours skies will begin to cloud ahead of the aforementioned low pressure system. This low pressure will traverse northern Wisconsin while the Milwaukee area will get clipped by the trailing cold front. No precipitation is expected for the Milwaukee area from this front passing. Meanwhile, temperatures will be able to slip into the upper 40’s for an overnight low with a southwest wind around 10 mph and mostly cloudy conditions.
Extended: Wednesday through Friday we’ll see high temperatures in the mid 50s and lows dip down into the mid 30s overnight. On Wednesday high pressure stationed just to the southeast of the Milwaukee area will provide sunny skies with northwest winds around 10 mph for the majority of the day and by overnight winds will ease (under 5 mph). Thursday will be a replay of Wednesday with the high pressure that brought mostly sunny skies on Wednesday now further off to the east, however winds will begin to shift to the south Thursday morning, but sustained speeds will remain calm. By the afternoon and evening speeds will start to increase with sustained speeds between 10-15 mph, before a low pressure system training a cold front moves through Wisconsin approaching from the west overnight Thursday into Friday. This cold front will bring a weak line of showers to the Milwaukee area with rain amounts looking to be between 0.40-0.60 inches. After the front passes through the area winds Friday morning will look to turn back to the northwest by the afternoon with sustained speeds around 10 mph. Skies will be mostly sunny Friday afternoon and stay clear through the overnight.
