Wisconsin sports fans had a lot to be excited about this past weekend as the Brewers, Packers and Badgers won, moving them up in the standings and putting the sports world on notice.

It was a big weekend in Milwaukee as the Brewers swept the Pittsburg Pirates in a three-game series. The Brewers beat the Pirates 10-1 as well on both Friday and Saturday. On Sunday, the Brewers held an early 4-0 lead before the Pirates scored three runs in the eighth inning. Yet, the Brewers managed to secure the win.

Meanwhile in Madison, the Badgers beat the Michigan Wolverines 35-14/. It was a huge statement game for the number 13 Badgers as they took down number 11 Michigan 35-14.

This big win was thanks to a stout defensive effort from the Badgers and the Heisman caliber running back Jonathan Taylor, who torched the Michigan defense for 203 yards on 23 carries with a pair of touchdowns on the ground.

The defense stopped Michigan all day and had a pair of interceptions to go with the already impressive game.

Jack Coan only missed three passes and, although he didn’t have any touchdowns through the air, he grabbed two scores simultaneously posting his longest run of the year at 25 yards.

Jonathan Taylor did not play the full game due to an injury scare but should be back in action next Saturday against the Northwestern Wildcats.

In professional football, The Green Bay Packers played the Denver Broncos on Sunday and rode to a 27-16 win which moved their record to 3-0 first in the NFC North.

Aaron Rodgers posted 235 yards with a touchdown through the air; thanks to an early free play as he launched a rocket to Marquez Valdes-Scantling, marking Rodgers’ fourth touchdown of the year and Scantling’s first.

Scantling led the team in receptions and yards posting 99 yards on six receptions.

Aaron Jones also helped out the Packers with two touchdowns on the ground but only 19 rushing yards.

Other notable players include Jaire Alexander who forced his first fumble of the year; rookie Darnell Savage who caught his first career interception on a haywire pass from Joe Flacco; and new addition Preston Smith who earned the NFC Defensive Player of the Week.

The Packers did not have a turnover and the O-Line played outstandingly as no one sacked Aaron Rodgers the entire game.

There’s a lot to look forward to in Wisconsin sports. The Packers look poised for a playoff run, the Badgers are one of the best college football teams in the country, and the Brewers clinched the playoffs earlier this week.

With the Bucks season rapidly approaching, the 2019-2020 season looks like it’ll be an exciting one.
