The Milwaukee Repertory Theater has cancelled all live performances of Jacob Marley’s Christmas Carol by Tom Mula.

The show is rescheduled to begin Dec. 1. and they are offering digital streaming of the full production worldwide for $20 per household.

The performance of the Christmas Carol was already reimagined earlier this year – the usual full-cast production became a one-man show and the seating capacity was lowered from its normal maximum of 720 seats to 180. Now, the theater has to pivot again with the spike in COVID-19 cases and new restrictions from Milwaukee on public gatherings.

The full production of Jacob Marley’s Christmas Carol, including the soundscape created by foley artist Dan Kazemi, the lights, the set and the performance of Lee E. Ernst will all be in the filmed version. It will be filmed by 20 time Emmy Award winning multimedia company HMS Media with multiple, high-definition cameras.

As another gift to the lovers of the Mark Clements’ classic production of A Christmas Carol, the Rep is releasing a never before seen recording of the award winning 2016 production, which is also filmed by HMS Media. This production will be available to stream for free (donations are accepted) to view during the month of December.

Later this month, the Rep will announce how to purchase tickets for the Jacob Marley’s Christmas Carol digital production. Tickets are $20, and proceeds from ticket sales will be used to employ and compensate artists involved in the production.

Those who purchased tickets to the live, in-person performance of Jacob Marley’s Christmas Carol will receive a full refund starting Thursday, Nov. 5.
