Today: A downcast Tuesday morning greets the city today, as a low pressure front carries off and on rains over Milwaukee throughout the course of the day. Despite this morning rain, expect fairly warm temperatures hanging in the mid-40’s. As afternoon nears, a small mostly-dry break from the rain is expected to ensue. Despite this, the skies will remain cloudy and the air will be warm (around 48 degrees in downtown Milwaukee, but potentially into the mid-50’s as you get further inland). The winds will be fairly milk throughout the day, although there is a potential for some stronger gusts in the morning!

Tonight: A cold front will sweep the city around 9 or 10 p.m., bringing a short bout of rain. Otherwise, the night will calm down soon after. The temperature will settle at an unseasonably mild 45 degrees, and winds will be mild.

Tomorrow: As the low pressure system continues to slide over southern Wisconsin, anticipate scattered showers throughout Wednesday. The morning will be rainy and 33 degrees, a bit chillier as rain coats the city. As the afternoon wears on, those temps will raise to the mid-30’s although don’t expect it to get much warmer. Be aware of some pretty strong wind gusts as this rain moves through the city. Some gusts are expected to get up to 25 miles an hour, although on average wind speed should remain in the 15 mile an hour range. The night will look similar, although temps will fall down into the upper 20’s.

Extended: As low pressure proceeds to cross the Great Lakes, the system will pull colder air from the northwest into our region. Temperatures on Thanksgiving barely exceed freezing, with a high of 32. We may see some glimpses of the sun, though harsh gusty winds look to accompany us. Winds could gust as strong as 30 mph, with wind chills in the single digits in the morning hours. Skies begin to clear into the overnight Thursday, while winds remain on the stronger side. Temperatures drop to a low in the 20s. Friday looks to calm and brighten up as high pressure is seen over the area. Temperatures still stay cooler, with a high of 30 for the day. As temperatures fall to a low of 22, snow chances build into the weekend as a low-pressure system and upper air disturbances approach the area. Models have major discrepancies with the impact of this system, but we may see our first snowflake on Friday night as a light snowfall. There are a lot of uncertainties with this approaching system, where we could see mostly rain mixed with snow showers, or see snow early on and last throughout all of Saturday. Aside from snow probabilties, highs on Saturday look to reach 33 with lows falling to 25. Make sure to stay up to date with the latest forecasts as we inch closer to the weekend.
