Overview: Cooler temperatures are in store for the remainder of the week, before temperatures heat up into the weekend. Rain is expected early next week, with Sunday and Monday expecting some precipitation.

Today: Temperatures fall into the lower 40s on Friday, creating a rather muted start to May. Skies begin off partly sunny, switching to overcast in the afternoon before finally returning to partly sunny as evening falls. Winds blow out of the north at 5 mph with 10 mph gusts expected, along with a 20% chance for rain around 6 p.m.

Tonight: Friday night temperatures drop to 31 degrees, causing widespread frost and freezing to occur throughout southern Wisconsin. Skies continue to be mostly clear, coupled with calm winds throughout the night.

Tomorrow: After a very cold night, a high pressure system boosts temperatures into the lower 50s during Saturday. Winds flow out of the west at a moderate 10 mph with 15 mph gusts. Skies remain mostly sunny throughout the day and into the evening, where more clouds move in. Nighttime temperatures drop into the upper 30s, with southerly winds at 8 mph. 

Extended: Early morning rain is expected on Sunday, ending around noon. Temperatures max out in the lower 60s, along with mostly cloudy skies throughout the day. Warm weather is expected on Monday, with temperatures skyrocketing into the lower 70s with partly cloudy skies. Rain moves in around 2 p.m. mixed with the occasional rumble of thunder, but nothing severe is expected in the area. Temperatures fall back into the lower 50s on Tuesday, coupled with mostly cloudy skies during the day. Winds will be moderate, blowing out of the west at 10 mph with 20 mph gusts.
