Today: A drier and cooler weather pattern will take shape over Wisconsin. A strong high pressure system out west will move into the area on Wednesday and set up over the north woods. Mostly cloudy skies will persist throughout most of the day as the system ushers in breezy northeast winds blowing 5-15 mph high temperatures will only reach the mid 70’s on Wednesday. Dew points will decrease as well settling in the mid 60’s, which is a refreshing change of pace from the tropical 70’s. However, with dew points still elevated and day time heating we can’t rule out an isolated afternoon sprinkle over the Milwaukee area (only a 20% chance). Furthermore, the National Weather Service has issued a Beach hazard Statement from Wednesday at 7:00 a.m. until Thursday at 4 a.m. Dangerous swimming conditions are expected because of rip currents and onshore winds. Any chance of rain chance will come to an end by evening with skies beginning to clear, allowing overnight temperatures to slide down into the mid 60’s with an easing northeast wind.

Tonight: Overnight skies will continue to clear as temperatures look to slide down into the mid 60’s with an easing northeast wind gusting 5 to 7 mph. Dew points will continue to fall through the lower 60’s overnight which will lead to a pretty nice Thursday.

Tomorrow: Thursday is going to be one of those ideal summer days. With high pressure now in full effect and centralized over eastern Wisconsin, skies will be mostly sunny. Temperatures look to increase slightly on Thursday still topping out in the mid 70’s though. Winds will stay out of the northeast gusting 5-10 mph throughout the day and with these northeast wind dew points will struggle to stay in the low 60’s and high 50’s throughout Thursday. Overnight skies look to remain mostly clear as temperatures look to bottom out in the low 60’s and dew points hovering in the high 50’s. Winds will remain calm overnight again making this a good opportunity to open the windows for sleeping Thursday night.

Extended: Friday will be the start of a short surge of heat and humidity back into the Milwaukee area. High temperatures look to rise into the high 70’s to near 80 degrees. This temperature increase is due to a wind change early Friday morning into the afternoon now gusting 5-10 mph out of the south. Skies throughout the day will become increasingly more cloudy as a weak cold front looks to bisect the state overnight Friday into Saturday morning from the northwest. A few showers and isolated thunderstorms may make their way through the Milwaukee area overnight Friday however, there is still some uncertainty about storm coverage. Currently, we can expect about a 20% chance of precipitation. Overnight Friday lows look to bottom out in the mid 60’s with dry dew points after the aforementioned front. With mostly sunny skies Saturday winds turn to the northwest gusting 10-15 mph due to the overnight cold front. High temperatures rise into the upper 70’s with comfortable dew points in the mid 50’s and continuing to decrease throughout the day Saturday because of the winds. Sunday will be more of a partly sunny day with temperatures struggling to get to 70 degrees and winds will continue to be gusty 10-15 mph from the northwest. Finally dew points could reach the upper 40’s on Sunday night with low temperatures in the lower 50’s which could feel a little fall like.
