Christmas Eve: Merry Christmas Eve, Panthers! Today’s weather certainly won’t feel like Christmas in Wisconsin with warm air taking hold over the area and rain chances possible at night. High pressure caters winds off the lake this morning with temperatures already in the mid 30s. Winds will remain calm, while overcast skies take course for the day. We’ll warm to a high near 40 degrees, as snow proceeds to melt. Upper air disturbances look to impact us late this afternoon and into the evening, raising rain chances for the latter half of the day.
Tonight: Temperatures will barely cool tonight, with a low falling in the mid 30s. An upper air disturbance will track over the area, creating a window of rain showers likely between 6 p.m. and the midnight hour.

Christmas Day: The trend of mostly cloudy skies and warmer temperatures continue through Christmas. Much of tomorrow will consist of dry weather with highs in the upper 30s. Winds look to shift from the north and become a little stronger, though should still be a calm Christmas Day. A low-pressure system is seen to be approaching the area throughout tomorrow and causing an impact by the evening. As temperatures fall to a low near freezing, we’re looking to see a wintry mix possible through the overnight. Uncertainty lies in precipitation type, where areas in Milwaukee will likely see a wintry mix before switching to rain by Friday morning. A possibility also remains where the entirety of this system is rain. Keep an eye out for updated forecasts as travel is planned for Christmas evening.
Extended: Any left over showers look to exit by Friday afternoon, with highs even milder for this time of year. Highs this weekend look to exceed 40 degrees, as Friday is expected to reach 41 and Saturday reaching 44. Cloudy skies linger for Friday, while low temperatures fall to the mid 30s. Saturday continues the warmer trend with cloudy conditions. A strong cold front brings the end to a warm holiday, with temps falling to the mid 20s and gusty winds on Saturday night. As that front passes, a possibility of rain ahead of the front is possible, but model inconsistency is apparent on possibility. On Sunday a low-pressure system enters our area, bringing a dip in temperatures to begin the early week. High temperatures on Sunday will be reached in the morning before falling near 20 for the course of the day. Stronger winds are expected, with wind chill values near zero. Cold air flow continues into Sunday night with a low around 10.
