Today:
Some early risers may get more than just parade music to wake them up. Overnight storms could linger into the early morning, especially around sunrise bringing downpours, lightning and even some gusty winds. If you’re heading to a morning event, keep an umbrella handy just in case. Once those clouds clear out, expect a muggy and warm day ahead. Highs will approach 89°F, with dew points climbing into the 70s, pushing the heat index into the mid to upper 90s by the afternoon. Skies gradually brighten as the day progresses, and thankfully, any storms should stay away by evening, setting the stage for a warm but dry fireworks show. Southwest winds will pick up in the afternoon, around 10 to 15 mph.
Tonight:
A very warm and humid night ahead. Temperatures only drop to about 73°F under partly cloudy skies. Southwest breezes persist around 10 mph, keeping the air feeling sticky overnight.
Saturday, July 5:
Saturday brings more heat. Sunshine dominates the morning and early afternoon, with highs peaking around 91°F and heat indices nearing 100°F across parts of the city. Southwest winds at 10–15 mph (with gusts to 25 mph) will offer some relief but also help mix down that heat. By late afternoon into the evening, a cold front approaches from the west. This will spark another round of thunderstorms, some of which may be strong to severe, especially northwest of the city. The timing is still a bit uncertain, but most models agree storms will fire late in the day and move eastward.
Saturday Night:
Thunderstorms are possible through the evening and into the overnight hours. Any lingering activity could include heavy rainfall and localized strong wind gusts. Depending on the coverage and movement of the storms, flooding could be a concern. Temperatures remain warm and humid, with lows only dropping to around 70°F. Winds ease a bit overnight but still come out of the southwest around 5 to 10 mph.

Sunday, July 6:
Depending on how quickly the front clears, we could see lingering showers or storms early in the day. If that front slows down, some midday or afternoon storms may return. Otherwise, look for gradual clearing and slightly cooler air moving in behind the system. Highs settle back into the mid 80s with lower humidity filtering in by late day. Northwest winds around 10–15 mph help dry things out, making for a more comfortable second half of the weekend.
Monday, July 7:
The coolest and quietest day in the stretch. Expect mostly sunny skies with seasonable temps with highs near 83°F and dew points down into the low 60s. A refreshing northwest breeze around 10 mph will make the air feel far more comfortable. A great day to spend outdoors before more unsettled weather returns.
Tuesday, July 8:
Clouds begin to return as another system sets up to our west. While the morning and early afternoon could stay dry, shower and thunderstorm chances increase by late day. Temps reach the mid 80s again, but humidity will begin creeping back up as well. Winds shift southeast around 5–10 mph as the next round of unsettled weather approaches from the Plains.
