Today: Hot and humid kicks off the weekend. Air originating in the gulf will continue to engulf the region, where temperatures will get into the lower 90s by the afternoon. SW winds from 10-15 mph will keep air moving, but will keep the cooler lake air from getting onshore. Clouds will be scattered throughout the day so don’t rely on them too much for sun relief. By late afternoon, a cold front associated with a low pressure system to our west will pass through with a threat of some strong to severe thunderstorms. The main hazard with these would be damaging winds, so keep yourself up to date as the day progresses if any storms move into the area.
Tonight: Tonight the cold front will pass and temps will quickly start to drop into the 70s. Scattered rain showers will linger into the morning and the winds will calm.

Tomorrow: Lingering rain should clear out by midday as the sysyem moves east, but cloud cover will remain in place before starting to slowly clear out by late afternoon. Temperatures will be cooler only reaching a high in the upper 70s, hopefully providing some relief from the heat and humidity of the last few days. Winds bound from the north will help keep us cool and dropping overnight temps into the upper 50s/lower 60s.
Extended Forecast: Monday we remain cooler only reaching the mid 70s as a high pressure system up in Canada will be keeping most of the gulf air south of us. Tuesday we see some chances of rain return as a weak system moves overhead, where temps will reach the mid 80s. Wednesday another system will pass south of the border providing more chances of rain most of the day. Temperatures will be much cooler only getting to around 70 with the aid of winds off the lake.
