Today (6/11/25): Summer weather has arrived for your Wednesday forecast! We will start off with a good deal of sunshine and remain that way for the majority of the day. This in turn will drive our high temperatures near 80 degrees for the afternoon. Winds in the morning will be out of the west-southwest with gusts anywhere from 15-20 mph. Throughout the afternoon and into the early evening winds will turn more westerly and become calm.

Tonight: During the night our next weather maker will arrive. Skies will turn mostly cloudy during the late evening and overnight. Clouds will come in with multiple batches of showers and thunderstorms, which will be making their way through southern Wisconsin (starting around 1 a.m). These showers are due to a stationary cold front that will stall out across most of Iowa and back through southern Wisconsin. The Storm Prediction Center has issued a level 1 out 5 on their severe weather risk outlook for all of southern Wisconsin and back into Iowa. Some of the stronger storms that move through the area by the late evening and overnight hours could produce some small hail and gusty winds. Widespread severe weather is not expected. Finally, as the night wears on and into Thursday morning showers will persist. Our low temperatures should settle into the upper 50s due to the rain moving through the area and our wind will become northeasterly, but remain calm.

Tomorrow (6/12/25): Unfortunately, overcast skies will hold on for most of your Thursday. There may be some peaks of sunshine during the early afternoon. High temperatures should top out around the low 60’s. Wind will stay to the northeast through most of the day as the stalled low pressure system moves to the northeast over lake Michigan. There is no severe risk for Thursday, however if we get enough afternoon sunshine to redestabilise the atmosphere which could spark more thunderstorms Thursday evening. Low temperatures will drop back into the low to mid 50’s with calm winds from the northeast.

Friday-Sunday: A rainy trend will continue for the rest of the week with another low pressure system passing through northern Wisconsin on Friday. Showers will be likely throughout most of Friday and continuing on the back side of the low for Saturday, but these showers will be more scattered in nature. Highs will hold pretty steady in the high 60’s through Sunday. Low temps should do the same and hold in the middle 50s during the overnight hours of the weekend. Winds will continue to be calm and from the northeast. There is some good news for outdoor enthusiasts! As the weekend goes on rain chances will become slimmer, furthermore we look to be on a warming trend by Monday.
