Today: Wednesday will start out like your typical Wisconsin fall day with mostly cloudy skies from the reminiscence of the rain showers overnight. The Rain showers should wrap up early in the morning ( by 8 am) however, cloudy conditions will continue throughout most of the day with maybe some peaks of sunshine by the afternoon. Winds will be mainly out of the northeast for the majority of the day with sustained speeds 5-10 mph and gusts as high as 15 mph by the evening. Temperatures will only be able to climb into the upper 50’s for a day time high because of gusty northeast winds and cloudy sky conditions. These cloudy conditions on your Wednesday are made possible by a stationary front parked south of the Milwaukee area. This stationary boundary will begin to sag south by Wednesday evening and into the overnight due to an incoming high pressure system for Thursday.
Tonight: Cloud cover will begin to break up overnight as a weakening high pressure system approaches from the northwest out of Canada. Temperatures will settle in the lower 50’s for an overnight low with winds staying out of the northeast, but calming a bit with sustained speeds still between 5-10 mph but gusts slowing to around 10 mph.
Tomorrow: The aforementioned weakening high pressure system will glide through northern Wisconsin on Thursday giving the Milwaukee area mostly sunny skies. This high pressure system will be a quick mover exiting by late evening Thursday night. Although with the bright skies Thursday temperatures will be able to rebound in the lower 60’s for a day time high. Winds will be out of the west-southwest form most of the day with sustained speeds around 5-10 mph. As late evening rolls around skies will begin to cloud up again due to a warm front extending off of a strong low pressure system which is traversing the US- Canadian boarder approaching from the west. Overnight Thursday, an isolated shower chance exists (about 10%) between 4 am-7 am, but only a few hundredths of an inch is expected. Along with this rain chance low temperatures will slip down into the upper 50’s with cloudy conditions. Furthermore, winds will shift to the south with sustained speed around 5 mph. This low pressure system will be our next weather maker for the Milwaukee area which will unfortunately last through most of the upcoming weekend.
Extended: Friday will feel like a late summer day with temperatures rising through the 60’s in the morning and topping out to near 70 degrees for a high which is above average for this time of the year in Wisconsin. Along with the warm temperatures winds will whipping out of the south with sustained speeds between 10-15 mph for most of the day. With all of Wisconsin being trapped in between fronts on Friday and off and on rain chances cloudy skies will look to dominate much of the weekend.

Ahead of the a cold front attached to the aforementioned low pressure will be approaching from the west during Friday afternoon and in the late evening and overnight hours. Ahead of the front there may be a few isolated showers and thunderstorms that develop and slide through the Milwaukee area (between 1pm- 7pm), but only about a 40% chance. No severe weather is expected, but heavy rain is possible with any thunderstorm. As the late evening and overnight hours roll around there will be a break in the rain. Temperatures will look to only be able to settle into the lower 60’s for a night time low with winds still out of the south, but decrease to around 10 mph. Saturday morning, around 7 am, the cold front finally began to pass over the Milwaukee area bringing multiple rounds of showers and embedded thunderstorms throughout the whole day. As I mentioned on Friday, no severe weather is expected, but heavy rain at times is probable. New rain totals could be between (1 inch-1.50 inches). High temperatures will only be able to top out in the mid 60’s with a gusty south wind between 10-15 mph. Finally, rain chances will come to an end by 8 pm Saturday evening and with the passing of the cold front temperatures look to cool way down overnight dipping into the upper 40’s for low temperatures! With skies beginning to clear overnight from the previous weather maker winds will slowly turn to the northwest with sustained speeds around 10 mph by Sunday morning. With the arrival of Sunday skies look to brighten a little with partly sunny skies with some fair weather clouds still hanging around. As we stay dry temperatures will rise through the upper 40’s and low 50’s in the morning and reach into the upper 50’s for a high with a cool gusty northwest wind with sustained speeds around 10 mph for the majority of the day. By the evening and into the overnight winds look to decrease to around 5 mph sustained and temperatures once again finding the lower 40’s for a low temperature with skies becoming partly cloudy.
