Today: Showers from Friday night will last into early Saturday morning (ending before 9 a.m.). Overcast conditions will start your Saturday along with more above average temperatures for southeastern Wisconsin. Temperatures will rise through the 60’s in the morning as a warm gusty southwest breeze with sustained speeds around 5-10 mph, gusting around 10-15 mph throughout the day. The southwest wind will help temperatures top out in the low 70’s for a daytime high. Skies will begin to clear during the early afternoon with a few fair weather clouds hanging around, however by late afternoon skies begin to cloud up once more in wake of our next weather maker.
Overnight: By 7 p.m. two low-pressure systems, one from the south and one from the west of Milwaukee will occlude and start to move off to the north and east trailing a strong cold front. By 9 p.m. this front should arrive in the Milwaukee area bringing multiple rounds of showers and embedded thunderstorms. No severe weather is expected, but times of heavy rain is definitely possible with isolated rumbles of thunder and lightning. Rain showers will continue through the night and into Sunday. With this low pressure system moving through, temperatures will be able to settle into the low 50’s overnight with wind starting to turn to the northwest very slowly with sustained speeds 10-15 mph with gusts close to 20-30 mph.
Tomorrow: Sunday will start out on a very windy, rainy and overcast note. Rain showers will last until mid afternoon with new rainfall amounts between 1 inch – 1.25 inches. Strong northwest winds with sustained speeds between 20-25 mph and gusts up to 40 mph will also be occurring Sunday with the rain. Winds will start to calm as the day goes on but still keep from the northwest. Temperatures won’t be able to increase a whole lot because of sky conditions and the departing low pressure system. Highs will only be able to find the middle 50’s. By the evening and into overnight winds will calm with sustained speeds 5-10 mph and turn to the south through the overnight hours. Skies will be fairly clear overnight which will allow temperatures to settle in the lower 40’s for the overnight hours.
Extended: The work week is going to start a little unsettled. Monday a strong high-pressure system far south will have control over Milwaukee’s weather. Mostly clear skies with temperatures finding their way in the low 60’s for a daytime high and winds sustained around 5 mph in the morning. Overnight winds will turn to the west and increase with sustained speeds now 10-15 mph and mostly cloudy conditions which is due to a surface low-pressure system dropping in from the north. A weak cold front swings in with the system, which will cause a band of light rain showers to swing through the Milwaukee area Monday night and into Tuesday early morning (20% chance). By Tuesday morning any rain showers will have come to an end while the low pressure system will have moved off to the east. Skies will be overcast throughout the day with gusty winds. Temperatures will only wake up in the upper 40’s for a day time high due to the passing front Monday night. Tuesday evening and into the overnight still a bit gusty with sustained speeds 10-15 mph and temperatures will settle in the low 40’s with mostly cloudy skies. Wednesday our weather pattern will begin to change. Temperatures will be able to rebound a bit making into the low 50’s for a daytime high. By the evening and into the overnight winds speeds will calm even more to around 5 mph and temperatures will drop into the lower 40’s again.
