The November monthly playlist is finally here for your ears to hear the sonorous song suggestions of pieces we hold near and dear. Headphones are recommended for the best experience.
Lazy Bones by Nabes – Brianna Schubert
This song is a bop. I think I say that about a lot of songs but with this one, there is no other description. It is very chill, a little repetitive and absolutely perfect for listening to while working on something, chilling with friends or just driving around.
All I Want for Christmas is You by Mariah Carey- Jon McCray Jones
This is an iconic Christmas song that sets the tone for the holiday spirit. After Thanksgiving and Black Friday we really go full throttle into the Christmas culture. And there is no better way to start that feeling than with this song.
Sunny Duet (feat. The Mind) by Noname, The Mind – Adam Kelnhofer
Noname always calms me down and this piece is no different. Her smooth voice and effortless style make me feel like I’m melting into my chair. I can almost smell the sweet summer air and feel the warmth of the sun’s rays as it sets over Chicago. I would list all of “Telefone” here if I could, but alas the monthly playlist just can’t contain all of Noname’s talents.
Stay High by Brittany Howard and Los Angeles by HAIM – Jacob Rohan
Both Los Angeles and Stay High are groovy songs that are perfect for driving. I was home for the November holiday break, and these songs played in the background while I was driving past places I used to frequent that now seem so far removed from my current life. I found myself having this moment right out of a coming of age movie ending, specifically “Lady Bird.”
Freaking Out by The Wrecks – Emily Prochaska
This is a good song to get you prepared for the swirling, cold winds of winter. The song displays the perfect amount of angst you need. It also has some unique background audio and pop-rock tones within the song.
Stay by Rihanna – Zach Semancik
Please don’t leave Milwaukee Giannis. We want you to stay. That is all.
Edge of Midnight (Midnight Sky Remix) [feat. Stevie Nicks] by Miley Cyrus – Olivia Honeck
Miley Cyrus’ new album Plastic Hearts is the music I’ve been craving from her as an artist for a while. Her vocals are incredible in this more gritty punk-rock setting. I love this version of Midnight Sky because anything featuring Rock and Roll Hall of Fame legend Stevie Nicks is amazing.
Something Beautiful by Larkins – Olivia Honeck
If you’re looking for an 80’s vibey synth-pop dance anthem with main character vibes… look no further. Play it as you strut down the sidewalk romanticizing life.
When Did Your Heart Go Missing by Rooney – Olivia Honeck
Okay so this one is a little random, but I’ve recently rediscovered this song. Everytime I play it I am reminded of the 2007 movie Nancy Drew starring Emma Roberts. It just reminds me of simpler times and it’s a bop.
6’s to 9’s by Big Wild feat. Rationale – Molly Nelson
Guaranteed to put ‘cha in a good mood, the wave-hello-to-strangers-on-the-street type of mood. Pop some headphones in, press play on this little ditty, take a walk around the block and pretend you’re in the final scene of an uplifting 80s coming-of-age movie.
